It has been a wonderful October!
With the Kickstarter processing period cleared, all surveys have successfully been sent out. As of now 77% of the Surveys have been completed. I am waiting on the last 100 people, so if you have not filled it out - please do. For those who wish to purchase any backer-only add-ons, you have until the first week of November before I charge the cards for any new purchases.
Within the survey, I polled the interest for Linen-Air Finished cards vs a Metallic Silver Gilded Edge. As of now, the majority have favored the Linen-Air finish at 124, with Gilded Edges sitting at 93, and those with no preference at 77. With this the case, I am likely to move ahead as planned with the Linen-Air Finish for Shadow Light Tarot but am looking into offering the Metallic Gilded Edges for the travel-sized Wander Light Tarot that will be included with every pledged Deck.
For those who have not pledged the Kickstarter & are interested in Shadow Light or Wander Light Tarot, I will be announcing the next opportunity through the mailing list (which you can sign up for on WakingCanvas.com ). I am considering a brief presale window before they launch, but all pricing will reflect retail value compared to what has been offered during the Kickstarter.

CHAMPION CARDS

The last week, some of you may have caught the Live Streams from my Youtube channel of myself illustrating the 5 Champion Cards being included with Shadow Light Tarot. These are unique cards that carry the weight of a Major Arcana card while remaining separate from the Traditional Deck. I had a lot of fun making these happen & very proud of how they all came out. , For those interested in a more in depth look of the creative processI have been sharing Work-in-Progress updates & Live Stream Replays over on the Patreon page. You can see a sneak peak of the art of each card previewed above. I will reveal them soon in a full post, so stay tuned.

PRODUCTION UPDATE

I have finally been able to start placing some of the orders for what will be included with Shadow Light Tarot. I am very excited for the new Magnetic Box which I shared in the previous update. Since then I have moved forward with the Alter Cloth & Third Eye Skull Pins, as well as the Pouch that will be included with every deck. I am actually pretty excited for the Pouch as I have changed the design from the Waking Canvas logo to the Skull that has been a prominent representation of Shadow Light Tarot. I plan to included this within the Magnetic Box as it holds your cards. It makes for an amazing presentation that will also allow you to use either the Magnetic Box or the Pouch to store your Deck.
With all the stretch goal Bonus Cards now complete, I am preparing the cards to begin printing soon. I am finalizing any last minute touch up & details to make sure everything is perfect. Both Shadow Light & Wander Light will be printed together & are expected to complete by late November. At this rate, if all goes well, I will be able to start sending out everyone's rewards before November's end (ahead of the December schedule). Just be sure that you fill out your survey & that you have the correct address so that your rewards will arrive for you to experience the Magick awaiting within!

BEHIND THE SCENES & WIP UPDATES

Everything has been coming together so beautifully. I have been sharing various Behind the Scene updates & sneak peaks over on the Patreon Page. From Pages within the Visual Companion Guide to the process of making the Champion Cards. I will have more Art, Media, & Downloads on the way too.
Once Shadow Light Tarot is sent out, I will have more time to work on the next deck, Astro Light Oracle. Even if you do not pledge, you can still follow & receive updates on all the public posts. I am transitioning to posting there more often as I phase out other NPC Social Media.

The post-Kickstarter processing period has completed & I am now able to move forward with the post-Kickstarter surveys. Once these are set, production will go underway.
Soon, you’ll receive an email with a special link to your BackerKit survey. It’s important to respond to your survey as quickly as you can since I will need this information to fulfill your rewards & complete the Kickstarter Thank You page in the Visual Companion Guide.
You don’t need to create a BackerKit account to fill out your survey. When you receive the email with the survey, click the survey link to respond. Answer the questions about your reward preferences, provide shipping information, and purchase add-on items if you like. You don’t have access to this survey link yet, but it will be rolling out in waves via email (very exciting, I know!)
After you respond to your survey, you can go back later and change your responses at any time before I close the surveys and move forward with production. If you need to review your information or pledge status, you can return to your survey by clicking the link in your survey email or requesting your survey link under "Lost your survey?" on our BackerKit project page: ShadowLightTarot.backerkit.com.
If you used your Facebook credentials to log in to your Kickstarter account, the BackerKit survey is sent to the email address you use for your Facebook account

Today I received the sample box that Shadow Light Tarot will be packaged in. Take a look for yourself:
I love the silver stamp look. I will be polling backers of Shadow Light Tarot on their preference towards Gilted Edges (Shiny!) vs Linen-Air Finish (Textured & Easy Shuffle). I intended to go with a Linen-Air Finish, but am open to see if enough people prefer the Metallic Silver look in a stacked deck. Feel free to drop a comment below voicing your expression on the options.
Will be offering more updates as things develop. Have a number of things occuring, but as always, will give it my best to make it all possible. Speak to you soon & hop everyone is enjoy the seasonal beauty of nature!

Thank you everyone who has taken part to help co-culminate the Decks into being!
Together, we have managed to raise 240% of the funding goal & allows myself to offer not just a premium version of Shadow Light Tarot, but Wander Light Tarot as an added bonus deck.
Over the next month, I will be beginning production so that I can ship all the rewards out as soon as possible, although few things need to happen before we can kick off production and fulfillment.
Here's a quick rundown:
First, Kickstarter needs to transfer over the funds so that they may be used to fund the rewards (this can take up to two weeks).
Second, I will have to collect the names for those who have pledged Shadow Light Tarot to feature you in the thank you pages of the Visual Companion Guide. I will also have to find out details in regards to where to ship them around the world. I will be sending out a survey through Backerkit to collect this information.
I will be posting an update to provide a heads-up before I send the survey so that you can watch for it. You don’t need to create a BackerKit account to answer your survey. The invitation email contains a link to your personal survey. It is important to submit your responses as quickly as possible since I will need this information to complete the Guidebook, process your rewards, & begin production.
If you need to change your survey responses, purchase add-on items, or update your shipping information, you can click the link in your survey email again or request your survey link under "Lost your survey?" on the BackerKit project page. (This page will only start working after we send the surveys out.) If you prefer, you can contact me directly and give me your information, but answering your survey helps to get your rewards out to you faster & manages the large list of pledges much easier.
Since I am a sole individual, I am utilizing BackerKit to help save time by streamlining the survey process, automating data organization, and providing a post-Kickstarter pledge management software to make it easy to process your pledge reward shipments.

Within 24 hours of posting the reveal of Wander Light Tarot, the stretch goal was officially met. We are currently 200% funded and am making this the very best it can be. If you have not already checked out the previous update diving into the art of the bonus deck, check it out on the Kickstarter.
